We offer a variety of insulation options, all suitable to any home, but with their own costs and benefits. In order to get a better idea of what type of insulation might fit your home, check out our options below.

Blown-in Fiberglass

This insulation is made from a variety of insulating foam and fibers, with 25 – 35% of it being fiberglass. Used since the 1930’s, it’s still one of the industry’s leading insulation materials because of its fire resistance and electrical insulation. Having fiberglass blow-ins reduces the risk of your home catching fire quickly in the event that it happens at all.

That’s just where things start. Fiberglass is a long-term solution to your insulation problems for a number of reasons, which include:

  • Climate Resistance – The chemical properties of glass fibers are extremely hard to change, and it will virtually never happen in normal conditions. This means your insulation won’t rot or warp.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity – Glass fibers neither absorb or emanate heat, which is why it’s a great insulator, it acts as a thermal barrier between the inside and outside of your home.
  • Malleability – Fiberglass is extremely flexible while still having high tensile strength, this means that it can be fit into virtually any nook and cranny, but not be easily taken out or damaged.

Rolled Batted Insulation

Another popular type of fiberglass insulation is rolled batted insulation. The process is much more hands-on, as the material comes in rolled strands and needs to be cut and installed into your home. Batted insulation may be the way to go if this is the first layer of insulation in your home. It is naturally more compact than blown-in fiberglass and has a cleaner, tidier finish allowing you to make more use of your attic or any open space that may be insulated but not covered with plywood afterword.

Spray-Foam Insulation

A liquid-plastic foam is sprayed into the cracks, crevices, and open spaces in your home, and quickly hardens into effective insulation. This method could be more effective than batted rolls or blown-in fiberglass, but it also costs more.

One added benefit of spray-foam is that it is possible to fill cracks in doors and windows, or other spaces that other insulation wouldn’t effectively go.
